Activities

Creating opportunities for children to find new things to excite their interest and uncover talents is central to what we do at Cricklade Manor Prep. We want to make as broad a choice of activities available to our children as possible, and do so within and beyond the curriculum.

Special Days

Diwali Celebration, Science Extravaganza, Environmental Awareness Day.

School trips and events

Taking learning out of the classroom keeps children engaged and helps them retain their knowledge. Throughout the school year, trips to children have the chance to bring history to lif Recent trips have included Kew Gardens, Chedworth Roman Villa and Egyptology at the Ashmolean Museum.

Clubs

During lunch break and after school, pupils can dive in a huge range of activities. We draw on the expertise and enthusiasms of our staff, and also bring in external practitioners, to ensure that every child will find something to fire their interest.

In the Pre-Prep this term these include Dance, Judo, Harry Potter Club and Yoga. Older children can try their hands at Outdoor Learning, Performing Arts and Manga, as well as a wide range of sports.

Two members of our STEAM club won a national award among thousands of entries. Also got to the National Finals of the Fly to the Line Primary School Glider Challenge.

Entrepreneurship

Every year, Year 6 children from across Wishford schools go head to head in the Wishford Award. This initiative, now in its third year, gives teams a £50 investment, invites them to devise, research and develop a business idea, and then trade over a 24-hour period. The range of disciplines the Enterprise Award covers, from product design and development, to market research, to budgeting, and sales and marketing, allows every child to capitalise on his or her own strengths, and gives them a clear oversight of the process of running a business.
