A Warm Welcome Back Meadites!
What a week! The sun was shining, the birds tweeting, the flowers blooming and the cricket balls flying! Best of all, the children were smiling bucket-loads to be back at The Mead.
Reception kicked off the term by painting flowers, a perfect introduction to their new ‘Power of Reading’ story for this half term – Errol’s Garden – which will encourage their literacy skills and art activities.
Year 5 had a very positive first training session in ‘hardball cricket’ – an activity historically reserved for Year 6s. Their cricket bats’ fresh red ‘cherries’ have them very excited for the upcoming fixtures.
The beautiful sounds of Year 6 singers filled the hallways as auditions for the summer show started in earnest. Mr Harley (Music) and Miss Victoria (Drama) will have their work cut out casting such strong performers.
