Back to antiquity at Lullingstone

Year 4 recently immersed themselves in Roman culture for their term topic. For an adventurous and informative conclusion, they visited Lullingstone Roman Villa, situated in the idyllic countryside by the river in Eynsford, Kent. The children explored the villa, discovered artefacts, clued together different bits of information, and dressed up! They were lucky enough to handle objects over 2000 years old and see an actual mosaic floor!

Topics are an excellent way to bring context to learning and create memorable themes over an extended period at school. Pair this with a themed trip, and you’re on to a winning combination!
