Brilliant Battle of the Beaks for Biology Lesson!
Year 6 have been investigating beak adaptation of birds in a fun hands-on biology experiment as part of their STEAM learning.
The children have been exploring the wide variety of beak types found within the bird population and developing an understanding of the way in which beak shape is related to the available food sources within an environment.
Using various apparatus such as tweezers, clothes pegs, marbles and beakers, the young scientists carried out a fun hands-on experiment, simulating bird feeding by using different types of ‘beak’ to collect ‘food’ and place it into a ‘stomach’.
