Fantastic Finance Session for Year 6

Our Year 6 pupils have been learning how to manage money in an interactive and fun workshop.
The high energy session from St James’s Palace Wealth Management has been teaching the children important life skills in dealing with the world of finances.
The workshop provides a safe environment for the pupils to learn from their mistakes and introduces them to the concepts of risk and rewards, saving, banking, budgeting, setting financial goals, borrowing and lending.
Set up as a fun game, each child begins with ‘£500’ in their ‘account’. They are then tasked with seeing who can grow their money the most by the end of the session, through a variety of fun games including building a tower in 30 seconds, darts and a fitness challenge, in which they need to devise strategies and calculate the risks involved. The children record all their income and expenditure on their bank balance sheets.
