Forest School Learning for Early Years

Research has found that when children take part in Forest School it increases their self belief, confidence, learning capacity, enthusiasm, communication and problem-solving skills and emotional well-being.

At The Mead we are passionate about giving our pupils as much opportunity to enrich their learning in nature as possible. The children regularly spend time in our beautiful local woods for inspiring and fun forest school sessions.

Yesterday our Early Years children had a wonderful time at Forest School. They used magnifying glasses to hunt for wildlife, binoculars to spot birds, ‘painted’ the trees, hunted for the Gruffalo and carried out scientific ‘experiments’ on a huge orange puddle they found to work out if it was ‘poisonous’ or not!
