Unbelieve-a-bubble Science!
The children were so excited when Professor Bubbleworks came to visit The Mead. We participated in a number of wacky experiments to get us ready for British Science Week.
Children investigated air pressure with ping pong balls, hairdryers and leaf blowers, explored the air around them by making it move in smoke filled shapes and created humungous human sized bubbles!
The experiments were a brilliant opportunity to discuss concepts like energy transfer, forces, chemical reactions and states of matter. Professor Bubbleworks also explained their scientific investigation methods and how they achieve fair testing by minimising errors in their results.
The workshop was designed in line with this year’s British Science Week theme of growth. Afterwards, during British Science Week, our children had a fantastic time taking part in even more activities and challenges to explore this theme.
