Warm welcome for Grandparents Day

Our Reception classes excitedly welcomed their grandparents to school today.

The grannies and grandpas were treated to a wonderful performance of songs demonstrating what the children have been learning in phonics and maths, as well as some beautiful songs from the harvest service.

As grandparents enjoyed a cup of tea and a slice of cake (served by our enthusiastic Year 6s) the Reception children handed out a special gift to them – a poem all about a grandparent’s love with each child’s handprint.

After a visit to the Reception classrooms to view the children’s work so far this term, our Year 6 pupils gave the grandparents a tour of the whole school and grounds.

The grandparents clearly enjoyed their visit, with many commenting on what a special morning it was and how impressed with the school they were as they left.
