Our Town, Our School
Set at the heart of the beautiful and vibrant town of Tunbridge Wells is our beautiful and vibrant school! The Mead is a lively, modern prep school for children from 3 to 11 years old. We nurture academically ambitious children, challenging them to always do their best, and consistently achieving excellent results at 11+ for grammar and independent senior school entry.

Across four floors of an elegant Victorian villa, and in its imaginatively laid out grounds, pupils have access to excellent resources, including a drama studio, gym and Astro pitches.
But our facilities don’t stop there. Tunbridge Wells is not only our town, but our campus too! Our sports grounds are second to none; junior athletes play cricket at the Nevill Cricket Club, hockey at Hawkenbury Astro and rugby and football at Bayham Fields. Our stage is professional; each year, our outstanding drama department puts on five performances at the Trinity Theatre and five celebrations at King Charles the Martyr Church, while our choirs sing for shoppers in the Pantiles. Year 3s discover the wonders of geology at the sandstone formation of Wellington Rocks, and at the Amelia Scott library, children have the freedom to explore the magical world of books, and take individual music lessons.
- Excellent academic outcomes in exams and scholarships
- Maximum class size of 18
- 16 drama and music performances across the year
- Specialist teaching from age 3
- Wraparound care
- Over 25 clubs to choose from each week
We are small enough that all ages can be supported, challenged and nurtured under one roof and every child is known. But beyond the hedge, our facilities stretch across 105 acres, extending learning and opportunity right across Tunbridge Wells. This is our town.
If Tunbridge Wells is your town too, we would love to be your school.
