Pre-Reception and Reception Celebrates Chinese New Year
Happy Chinese New Year!
Our Pre-Reception classroom was transformed into a celebration of Chinese New Year as the children embarked on an exciting cultural journey to China!
The room was beautifully decorated with traditional Chinese ornaments, and the children made lanterns and dressed in traditional Chinese outfits. They explored special New Year traditions, including the significance of oranges as symbols of good luck and prosperity, and practised using chopsticks during our activities.
They were very proud to learn and use a few Chinese phrases, greeting one another with great enthusiasm. They also explored early mark-making by drawing and experimenting with Chinese characters, showing wonderful curiosity and creativity.
Pre-Reception and Reception enjoyed a delicious Chinese feast, where they ate Chinese food, discovered their fortunes and spoke about traditions.
It was a joyful and immersive celebration, full of energy and excitement, perfectly capturing the spirit of the Year of the Horse.
