Spring Term Highlights

The Spring Term is one of the most dynamic terms in the school year. As routines are firmly established, children are able to immerse themselves fully in academic challenge, creative expression and co-curricular opportunity. Our Spring calendar reflects a carefully balanced programme designed to stretch, inspire and support every child.

Below are some of the key highlights:

Performing Arts & Music

The Spring Term places a strong emphasis on performance, confidence and creative communication.

Pupils across the school will have opportunities to perform both in-house and externally, including informal music concerts, LAMDA and the Easter Concert. The children will also participate in ISA competitions, such as the A Cappella and Drama competitions.

KS1 have their Spring show, Peter Pan, at the Trinity Theatre, giving them valuable experience of performing. Year 2 take the lead roles in the production. Year 6 will perform their ISA Drama show at Trinity Theatre as well.

Sports

Sport remains a cornerstone of the Spring Term, with a full fixture list across rugby, netball, boys’ and girls’ football, and hockey.

Pupils compete regularly against local and regional schools, with highlights including:

  • ISA Regional and National competitions (in football after qualifying at the regionals).
  • House matches promoting teamwork and school spirit
  • Tournaments across age groups

Early Years

Our youngest children enjoy a rich programme of carefully planned experiences designed to spark curiosity and build confidence.

This term includes:

  • Forest Club sessions supporting outdoor learning and independence
  • Educational visits, such as the Reception trip to the British Wildlife Centre
  • Visitors to school, including a Pre-Reception Fire Brigade visit

Enrichment, Trips & Special Events

The Spring Term also brings a wealth of enrichment opportunities across the curriculum:

  • Science Week, including workshops, competitions and hands-on learning
  • Inter-house competitions in General Knowledge, Science and Maths
  • Visiting workshops in subjects such as History and Geography
  • Educational trips to locations such as Leeds Castle and the British Museum
