The Mead School Shortlisted for the 2026 Music & Drama Awards!

We are thrilled to announce that The Mead School has been named a finalist in the 2026 Music & Drama Education Awards for Excellence in Primary/Early Years (Music & Drama)!

This incredible recognition celebrates our thriving Performing Arts department, where music and drama are at the heart of school life for every child aged 3–11.

At The Mead, we believe in performance for all – every child takes part in shows throughout the year, with over 16 drama and music productions across the school calendar. From singing and dancing to acting, costume design, makeup and stage direction, our children gain a wealth of experience that builds confidence, teamwork and creativity. We are fortunate to enjoy a wealth of external opportunities for our children – a reflection of the exceptionally high standards our Performing Arts department upholds and the outstanding reputation we’ve built within the wider community.

Many of our pupils go on to shine in performing arts at secondary school — some even securing professional agency representation.

This is a tremendous achievement for a school like ours, especially as we are competing against specialist performing arts schools and groups.

Being shortlisted for this national award is a testament to our passionate staff, our talented pupils and our unwavering commitment to nurturing a lifelong love of performance.
