Maths Week! Time to Celebrate All Things Mathematical!
Last week was all about showing children the wonders of Maths in a fun and engaging way. From interactive games to puzzles, Maths Week makes numbers come alive and highlights the real-world magic of math.
We made Maths less intimidating and more inspiring by helping children explore its deep connections in an accessible, hands-on way. We discovered how math shapes our world—whether it’s in nature, technology, art, or everyday life making it less scary and more valuable
Pre-Reception
Pre-Reception embarked on an exciting treasure hunt around the playground, searching high and low to find the correct numbers and tick them off their sheets. The activity was full of adventure and helped the children practise their number recognition skills in a fun, hands-on way. Everyone worked hard and had a brilliant time hunting for hidden numbers
Year 2
Year 2 had an action-packed Maths Week filled with hands-on fun and creativity! They built 3D shapes using marshmallows and sticks, cracked secret codes, mastered their times tables through exciting challenges and even designed their maths board games.
Year 4
As part of Maths Week, Year 4 took part in a challenging treasure hunt in pairs, tackling various maths problems along the way. After completing the hunt, the quick finishers moved on to a fun emoji maths puzzle. It was a fantastic way to build problem-solving skills and celebrate Maths Week together.
Year 6
To celebrate Maths Week, Year 6 dived into a series of Bonfire Night-themed experiments and calculations. It was an exciting way to bring maths to life with the application of Bonfire Night!
