Every Child Shines on Stage at Our School

We are proud to be the only school in Tunbridge Wells where every single child—from Reception through to Year 6—takes to the professional theatre every year, in a whole school show. That’s 200 children singing, dancing, acting and shining in the spotlight.

Why is this important? Because confidence doesn’t just happen overnight—it’s nurtured over time. When children grow up performing in front of a live audience, under real lights, in a professional venue like the iconic Trinity Theatre, confidence becomes second nature.

Each year, our whole school production is a true spectacle. Children experience a wide range of roles—from lead characters to ensemble parts—wearing costumes, applying stage makeup, learning dance routines, actions, lines and songs. No one is left out. Everyone matters.

We believe that performing arts should be for every child—not just a select few in Year 5&6. That’s why we give every pupil the chance to take part, right from their very first year. This inclusive approach builds not just talent, but self-esteem, teamwork and resilience. Alongside this, we have Pre-Reception Summer concert, KS1 Spring Show (at Trinity Theatre), Year 6 ISA Show (at Trinity Theatre) and numerous concerts throughout the year (all fully choregraphed and children singing).

The result? One of the strongest foundations in performing arts you’ll find outside of specialist secondary schools. Many of our pupils go on to win scholarships, gain professional representation, or continue their journey in the arts with confidence and joy.

We are a school that believes in the power of performance—and most importantly, we believe in every child.

Last week, our school show of Chitty Chitty Bang Bang was an absolute triumph at the Trinity Theatre! The highlight for many was undoubtedly the spectacular, real-life Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, leaving audiences of all ages utterly spellbound. Our talented school pupils, from the youngest in Reception to our seasoned Year 6 performers, brought the world of Caractacus Potts and Truly Scrumptious to life.
