The Mead School – Kent Test Results 2026
Academic excellence starts here.
At The Mead School, we believe that strong academic foundations, ambitious teaching and individual attention give children the confidence to achieve their potential and the skills to thrive at senior school and beyond. Children are prepared for the ISEB Pre-test and Kent Test, both of which take place in Year 6.
Kent Test Results

We are immensely proud of our pupils’ outstanding achievements, with results that reflect the ambition, dedication and academic foundations at the heart of a Mead education.
88% of pupils who took the Kent Test were assessed as suitable for grammar school.
61% achieved a score above 380, with results suited to some of the most academically selective schools.
35% achieved a score above 400 — a remarkable achievement.
As our Year 6 pupils receive their Kent Test results, we celebrate the dedication, resilience and hard work that have brought them to this important milestone. Our approach combines high academic expectations with tailored support, ensuring every child is encouraged to aim high and equipped to take their next steps with confidence.
With a broad and challenging curriculum, specialist teaching and a culture of curiosity, we prepare pupils not simply for examinations, but for the opportunities that lie ahead. From the earliest years, we nurture independent thinking, intellectual ambition and a genuine love of learning. As Mrs Openshaw said at Trinity Theatre “Academic excellence is at the heart of The Mead, but there is no single definition of success here, and no single route to it. The school believes in high expectations, and in the high support that helps children meet them.”
“We do not lower the bar so that children can succeed; we raise the support so that they can reach it.”
At The Mead, academic success is built over time. It reflects the partnership between pupils, teachers and families, alongside our commitment to helping every child discover what they are capable of achieving.
