2O21 Leavers – gone, but not forgotten!

As we prepare for a new academic year ahead, our thoughts turn to our Year 6, 2021 leavers.  Wishing them all the best for a fresh start in their new secondary schools’. We are proud to list our Mead School leavers destinations as: Bethany School, Battle Abbey, Beechwood School, Bennett Memorial, Holmewood, The Judd School, Kent College Pembury, Roedean School, Sevenoaks School, The Skinners Kent Academy, The Skinners School, Skippers Hill Manor, St Gregory’s Catholic School,  Tonbridge Grammar School for Girls, Tunbridge Wells Girls’ Grammar School, Tunbridge Wells Grammar School for Boys and Westonbirt School.

We are so proud of each and everyone of you. You made an impression on all your teachers from across the year groups but it is Mrs Jaques and Mr Davies that had the pleasure of your final year with The Mead School and here is what they have to say:

“Year 6 will leave a hole in many hearts at The Mead. Wherever each individual started their journey at The Mead, each child has grown into a unique, resilient and kind individual. These incredible children made history during COVID and we are so proud of everyone. Then returning to school where they not only excelled in the classroom but their efforts and teamwork won them the ISA drama competition. Navigating and maturing in their residential and successfully entertaining to the highest standard at the summer show.” Mrs Jaques, Year 6 teacher.

“It’s with a mixture of joy and sadness that we say goodbye to our year 6 cohort. What better way to finish the year than to go out with a bang, with their mesmerising rendition of ‘Oliver!’ and the celebration of all they’ve achieved at prize-giving!  They have proven themselves time and again to be a wonderfully supportive, determined and bright group, who we all know will go on to flourish at secondary school and beyond.”  Mr Davies, Year 6 teacher.

Congratulations 2021 leavers and good luck in your new schools, which we are sure you are ready to join & flourish within. You all have the strength of character and a breadth of experience to draw on to make this new chapter a success. The Mead will always be a part of your journey and you a part of Mead school history. We will miss you!!
