“Oh, the places you’ll go!” ~ Dr Seuss
As the children in our new Year 6 are preparing to take the 11 plus themselves, we look back on last year’s results achieved by our Year 6 leavers in 2022.
25 of our children sat the Kent test and 80% of these achieved, or gained higher than, the aggregate score.
We are proud of the variety of our leavers’ destinations which include: The Judd School, The Skinners’ School, Tunbridge Wells Boys Grammar School, Tunbridge Wells Grammar School for Girls, Tonbridge Grammar School for Girls, Weald of Kent Grammar School, Holmewood House and then onto Tonbridge School, Dulwich Preparatory School, Mayfield School, Kent College, Bethany School, Bennett Memorial, The Skinners’ Kent Academy, St Gregory’s Catholic School, Beacon Academy and Hillview School for Girls.

We celebrated prizegiving, the children’s successes and future destinations on the last Saturday of the Summer term. There were some special prizes awarded to leavers. Ollie won the Culley prize for the best Meadite (pupil who most exemplifies the values of The Mead). Elisabetta won the Flanagan prize for the person who has made the most of her time at Mead. All-round sportsperson prizes were given to Sebastian and Uzezi. Congratulations to these and all the awards winners for individual subjects, sports and endeavours.
We are proud to send the new Mead Alumni off to pastures new and wish the leavers the best of luck in their secondary schools and beyond. We know that values and teachings from their time at The Mead will stay with them always.
“Teach us and guide us, and show us the way.”
