The Mead cleans up in regional sporting events!

The children have given us a lot to be proud of in sports! The U11 girls Hockey Team won the USKA Plate competition and will attend the nationals in March. The U11 boys followed suit, bringing gold home from the renowned Solefield Rugby tournament winning all five matches versus tough opposition and only conceding three tries the whole day!

Following this, the boys and girls (Years 3-6) participated in the ISA Regionals Cross Country at Radnor House. The U9 girls did unbelievably well, finishing first in their age group! The U11 girls came a close second. Well done to the five children who have qualified for the ISA Nationals, which will take place in Nottingham.

These sporting achievements are the culmination of many hours of hard work and practise in our outdoor space at school and through local facilities. We have PE scheduled four times a week as part of our curriculum and a wide range of different sporting clubs available for Juniors. We firmly believe in ‘Sports for all’ at The Mead, which is why we support so many sporting activities and programmes. These include Football, Netball, Hockey, Rugby, Cricket, Athletics, Taekwondo, Swimming, Cross Country, Gymnastics and Tennis. Children from Year 3 have weekly competitive fixtures and opportunities to compete at prestigious sporting events.
