The Mead Named National Finalist for Excellence in Performing Arts

We are delighted to announce that The Mead School has been named one of just three finalists nationally for the 2026 ISA Award for Excellence in Performing Arts.

The national recognition celebrates the breadth, ambition and quality of performing arts across ISA schools, and is a wonderful acknowledgement of the opportunities our pupils enjoy throughout the year.

Performing arts is a vibrant part of life at The Mead, with more than 18 productions and performances taking place over the past year. Our pupils have performed on some of Tunbridge Wells’ most celebrated stages and venues, including multiple performances at Trinity Theatre, concerts at King Charles the Martyr Church, performances on The Pantiles, and the Tunbridge Wells Big Light Switch-On.

There has also been success on the national stage, with The Mead receiving Best Junior Production at the ISA National Drama Awards and Convincing Characterisation recognition.

At The Mead, we believe performing arts has the power to shape confident, capable and curious young people. Stepping onto a stage asks children to be brave, communicate, collaborate and trust in their own abilities. Whether performing to a packed theatre, singing as part of a choir or taking their first steps into drama, pupils learn to express themselves with authenticity and confidence. They discover that their contribution matters, that preparation brings reward and that challenges can be embraced.
