As we prepare for a new term, we say a final goodbye to our Year 6 leavers 2022. We celebrated prizegiving and the children's successes and future destinations on the last Saturday of term

Preparing children for life beyond The Mead

One fundamental part of our school ethos is preparing children for the future. Every year, we say goodbye to our Year 6 children as they move on to their secondary schools and want to ensure we have done everything possible to make this transition smooth, sending Mead alumni out into the world as leaders in all they do.

Bushcraft Adventures – Learning to survive in the wilderness

Years 4 and 5 have been bursting with excitement for their Bushcraft outing - a three-day, two-night wilderness adventure in the forests of Kent - and this week the day finally came to pack up, set off and have a load of fun learning some outdoor skills with friends.

Sports Day!

What a day! The whole school gathered and took part in their programmed events. The crowd cheered and cheered for the children. Picnics were enjoyed in the sun, and the atmosphere couldn't have been better!

Early Years learn from Mother Nature

Early Years felt a strong connection with nature when they took learning outdoors on Monday morning for Forest School. They commented on the changes they could see since their last visit during the midwinter. Within this safe environment, the children take personal responsibility by choosing what they want to do, helping to build their self-esteem. They all demonstrated excellent teamwork on this trip, working together to achieve various goals.
